Asterisk is an Open source PBX software that allows you to create fully functional phone systems at a fraction of the cost of traditional PBX hardware. Asterisk can provide high quality business solutions that are affordable to all small businesses.

-If one server can do it all why do large companies have so many?
As the amount of users increases the need for extra resources on any one machine increases, the average small business doesn't use it's machines to their full potential, consolidating services to one machine allows you to make the most from your investment.

Once your Server is installed at your location Montreal-VOIP will configure your domain name to point to your internet connection so the server can provide the web site for your clients.

-What if My ISP blocks server ports?
Some ISP's will block the ports required to prevent you from hosting a server. Although it is possible to map to different ports this could violate your ISP agreement and lead to you being disconnected without warning. For this reason we recommend either obtaining a business class internet connection or making use of Montreal-VOIP's hosted solutions.

-Does putting all of these services on one machine affect call quality?
The average small business frequently does not use the full potential of the servers or other hardware they purchase. By consolidating the services you get more performance for your money.
